Man Accused Of Stabbing Puppy Pit Bull Over 50 Times Will Serve 10 Years
A Florida man who was accused of beating a pit bull puppy, stabbing it over 50 times and stuffing it into his luggage while the dog was holding on to life will now serve 10 years in prison.
Attorney Michael Gottlieb stated the 35-year-old man was originally charged with 17 counts of animal cruelty, but prosecutors decided to drop it to 15 counts in exchange for the guilty plea.
This case drew attention from animals lovers all across the world who requested justice for Ollie the pit bull.
According to the Sun Sentinel, Evans initially denied being implicated in the case, but detectives located cat paws and rats with sliced heads in his apartment freezer, bloodstains covering his bathroom, and dried blood and animal fur in his oven.
Police also reportedly found a handwritten letter saying: “Make the entire pit bull investigation go away. Return all curses placed on Brendan to their sender. Give Brendan peace of mind.”
Gottlieb expressed to the newspaper that Evans is on medication and is in desire of help from mental health professionals.
