Family Dumps Him In Abandoned Building After Discovering Corpse

A 6-year-old boy has died after being forced to take a cold shower as punishment. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, 6-year-old Damari Perry was forced to take a cold shower shortly after, he began to vomit, causing him to become unresponsive.

Following his death, his family disposed of his corpse, leaving it in an abandoned building in Gary, Indiana, per prosecutors. There have been no reports of how long the boy stood in the cold shower until he became ill.

Reports say the family did not attempt to contact first responders amid the encounter. Before the boy’s body was discovered, Damari’s mother, Jannie Perry, 38, and a sibling reported him missing to authorities.

During the investigation, officials believed the family’s story was “contradicted by evidence,” which led investigators to shift their focus to the boy’s North Chicago home.

The young boy’s older brother, Jeremiah Perry, 20, is being charged in connection to Damari’s death with “aggravated battery causing great bodily harm to a child under 12, concealing a homicidal death and obstructing justice,” as his bail has been set at $2 million.

While the 6-year-old boy’s mother is being charged with “first-degree murder, concealment of a homicidal death, and obstructing justice.” Reports added that another sibling, who is a minor, faces unrevealed charges.
