Texas College Student Loses Ears, Nose & Lips In Vicious Dog Attack While Pet Sitting
Pet Sitter Loses Ears, Nose, And Lips After Owners’ Dog Attacked Her
The lawsuit filed by Jacqueline Durand states the college student was attacked on Dec. 23, 2021, while working as a pet sitter.
Durand was caring for a mixed-breed German shepherd and a pitbull, the two dogs owned by couple Ashley Jo Bishop and Justin Avery Bishop, and noted the incident took place on the day before her 22nd birthday.
She was unlocking the door to the couple’s home when the dogs reportedly pushed it open and “brutally attacked her” as reported by PEOPLE.
Moments later, the dogs “violently attacked her head and face” and tore off her ears and ate them then proceeded to tear off her nose, lips, and “most of her face below her eyes,” the suit reads.
The dogs also bit her body and Durand underwent multiple corrective surgeries. Currently, she’s still in the hospital.
According to the suit, the Bishops are still in defense of their dogs and even placed a sign on their door warning people to call or text due to their “crazy dogs.” They also assured Durand that the dogs would be kept in their crates before she entered their home.
“However, an ominous sign on the Bishops’ front door” — which reads “Crazy Dogs. Please Don’t Knock or Ring the Bell. Call or Text Instead” — “shows that they actually knew or reasonably should have known of the dogs’ dangerous propensities.”
