Why Miss USA 2019 Cheslie Kryst May Have Committed Suicide Revealed
Yesterday the 2019 Miss USA pageant winner and 30-year-old lawyer Cheslie Kryst committed suicide, after she jumped from the 60-story Orion building in New York City and was found dead in the street below.
Cheslie lived on the ninth floor of the building – so took the elevator up to a public 29th-floor terrace, and jumped to her death.
Cheslie Kryst was a former Miss North Carolina, who won the crown at the 2019 Miss USA pageant, wearing a sparkly winged outfit for the National Costume competition, a nod to Maya Angelou’s “I Know Why the Caged BIrd Sings.”

So what happened that could push such a smart and beautiful woman towards taking her own life? Well according to one person who knew Cheslie – it was a personal struggle with her sexuality and career struggles.
According to the person we spoke to, Cheslie was having a career crisis. Many of her childhood friends and family wanted her to pursue a career in law, instead of her career as a “correspondent” for Extra – which didn’t pay well. And according to an insider, the struggle with what to do with her career, “weighed heavily on her.”
Also, the insider claims that Cheslie was allegedly a member of the LGBTQ+ crew – and possibly a closeted lesbian. The insider claimed that Chelsea – who was deeply religious – was struggling with being open about her sexuality.
One day before she jumped, Cheslie wrote on her Instagram page, “May this day bring you rest and peace.”
