Ghislaine Maxwell’s brother says the family is concerned about her safety after Epstein associate Jean-Luc was found dead in his jail cell.

Former modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel was found hanged in a Paris prison where he was detained due to facing multiple counts of rape and sexual assault.

Brunel’s charges were related to a sex-trafficking investigation and his lawyers claimed their client didn’t stop “claiming his innocence.” Maxwell’s brother, Ian, is now concerned for her wellbeing and safety after receiving news of Brunel’s death.

“It’s really shocking, Another death by hanging in a high-security prison. My reaction is one of total shock and bewilderment,” he told the New York Post.

Ian Maxwell previously expressed concerns about his sister’s safety after she reportedly told him that she was being mistreated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. After her conviction on Dec. 29, she was deemed a suicide risk by a psychiatrist and was reportedly woken up from her sleep every 15 minutes.

“Despite the psychiatrist advising to the contrary, she has deemed a suicide risk and they are continuing to wake her up every 15 minutes in the night. It’s a complete violation of prisoner rights and human rights.”
