Jada Pinkett-Smith ‘Insisted’ On India Vacation With Will Smith After Oscars Slap Incident
Jada Pinkett-Smith ‘Insisted’ On India Vacation With Will Smith Following Chaotic Oscars Aftermath
Last week, Will Smith was spotted out in Mumbai, India, to meet with spiritual leader Sadhguru, but according to a new report, the trip was planned long before the actor’s infamous Oscars outburst in March.
According to Us Weekly, Jada Pinkett-Smith “insisted” that the family went ahead with their plans to enjoy the much-needed vacation despite Will’s attempt to keep a low profile following the backlash he’s received after slapping Chris Rock across the face.
The I Am Legend star appeared in good spirits as he graciously took the time to pose for photos with fans over the weekend, though his wife was nowhere to be seen.

“Will and Jada have taken the family on [a] vacation that was already planned,” a source gushed. “There had been talk of canceling [the trip] but Jada insisted.”
Aside from taking some time off, the Smiths are also said to be in tow to meet Sadhguru, who they first met in Los Angeles two years ago. It’s not entirely clear what prompted their intent to visit the Indian guru, nor has it been revealed whether Jada plans to document the meeting for her Red Table Talk show on Facebook Watch.
Photos of Will out in India surfaced the same week that Netflix had reportedly canceled plans to work on a sequel to the Hollywood star’s 2017 movie, Bright.
The follow-up flick was first announced back in 2018, and though production was expected to begin later this year, the streaming giant has decided not to move ahead with the project, with a source claiming that their decision had nothing to do with the Oscars incident.
