84-Year-Old Jane Fonda Says Being Closer To Death ‘Doesn’t Bother Her’
Veteran actress Jane Fonda, 84-years old, spoke out about how she is not bothered about death and that aging is not a bad thing.
“I’m super-conscious that I’m closer to death, and it doesn’t really bother me that much,” the star said on “CBS Sunday Morning.”
“What bothers me is that my body is, you know, basically not mine!” she added. “My knees are not mine, my hips are not mine, my shoulder’s not mine. You’re looking at somebody who’s only me from [the neck] up.”

Fonda expressed that she does feel like her body is no longer hers as she has had to have multiple knee and hip replacement surgeries in the past few years, but overall she is doing well and her career continues to stay at the top.
“The fact is, if you’re alive and relatively healthy at an older [age] — I mean, I’m almost 85,” she said. “The fact that I’m still alive and working. Wow, who cares if I don’t have my old joints and I can’t ski or bike or run anymore? Eh.”
“You know, you can be really old at 60, and you can be really young at 85. Health!”
Fonda however revealed that she stopped drinking as it began to affect her body differently.
