Teen Arrested After Allegedly Recruiting Students For Mass Shooting & Bombing At Berkeley High School

A teen was arrested after he allegedly tried to recruit students for a mass shooting or possible bombing.

The 16-year-old is in custody following accusations that he’s been recruiting students for mass shooting and bombing at Berkeley High School.

According to a press release made by the Berkeley Police Department, officers arrested a unnamed 16-year-old teen after receiving a tip alleging he had “been recruiting other high school students to participate in a mass shooting and/or bombing at Berkeley High School.”

Following a review of evidence and interviews with witnesses, an arrest warrant was obtained.

Police recovered the following items from the teens home, “parts to explosives,” assault rifles, knives, and more.

The 16-year-old teen was arrested on suspicion of possessing destructive device materials and threatening to commit a crime which will result in death or great bodily injury.

The investigation is still in progress, and a separate investigation is being handled by the Berkeley Unified School District.
