Judge Officially Rules Amber Heard Must Pay Johnny Depp $10.3 Million After Failing To Reach Settlement
The judge who oversaw Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s defamation trial finalized the verdict on Friday, subsequently sealing off the chances of both parties settling out of court.
The “Aquaman” actress’ representative has already stressed that their client plans to appeal the verdict but will have to make the notice within the next 30 days for her motion to be considered.
On June 1, the jurors who spent six weeks listening to both sides in the explosive trial found that both Amber and Johnny had both defamed each other.

But the verdict still ruled in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star’s favor, with the jury taking his side in all three of his claims against Amber that her infamous 2018 Washington Post op-ed had slandered his character.
Judge Penney Azcarate had given the ex-couple until June 24 to come up with a settlement out of court, which she would enter instead of the verdict that granted Johnny $10 million in compensatory damages and an additional $5 million in punitive damages.
Amber, who had just one victory out of her three counterclaims, was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages. Seeing that both parties failed to reach a settlement agreement by that date, the jury verdict has now been finalized.
This comes just days after a report asserted that Amber is in talks to potentially write her own tell-all book, which will be heavily focused around her volatile relationship with Johnny, as per OK! Magazine.
If criticizing and insulting Amber Heard is “targeted harassment”, then criticizing Kevin Spacy, Harvey Weinstein, and Joss Whedon is also targeted harassment. There aren’t separate rules based on gender. A jury found Weinstein guilty. A jury determined Heard lied. Same standard.
