Video Shows 13-Year-Old Boy Gunned Down By Police Had Hands Up & Unarmed
13-Year-Old Boy Unable To Walk After Police Gunned Him Down
An unarmed 13-year-old African American boy had his hands raised in the air when he was shot by a Chicago Police Department officer back in May. The shooting caused major injuries to his spine and esophagus.
Video footage obtained by Daily Beast, shows the teen—known only by his initials A.G.—running into a gas station parking lot with his hands up before turning around to his right. He shot right after.
The police then picked him up and took him to a different location. Another police car ended up crashing near the scene, causing officers to focus on that situation than getting the boy some immediate help.

The situation started when A.G. took off from police on foot after they tried to stop a vehicle he was a passenger in. Police claim the car, a silver Honda Accord, was involved in a carjacking the day prior to the shooting. He hasn’t been charged with a crime, and a weapon wasn’t recovered at the scene.
His family has filed a lawsuit on his behalf. In the suit it talks about how A.G. tried to comply with officers demands before he was shot. Andrew M. Stroth, the lawyer representing the family, spoke with DailyMail about how the shooting has left A.G ‘permanently and catastrophically injured.’
‘The shooting caused a major spinal injury to A.G. and he currently does not have use of his legs. In addition, he suffered a wound to his esophagus and still has a piece of a bullet stuck in his back.’
Along with the lawsuit, the incident is currently under investigation by the FBI, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office and the Civilian Office of Police Accountability.
