YNW Melly has scored a big win in his ongoing murder case. The Incarcerated rapper won motion to remove death penalty against prosecution. As it stands, death penalty has been removed from his double murder case.
Updating fans on his Instagram page, his management wrote: “Today Melly wins motion to remove death penalty against prosecution – management.”
Melly’s mother also shared the news on her Instagram story. “Death penalty has officially been removed from @ynwmelly case Thank you Jesus #FreeMelly2022,” she wrote.

Last week, the rapper’s mother said he will be home from jail some time this year. “He will be home 2022,” she wrote on Instagram Story.
During the rapper’s double murder trial, prosecutors claimed Melly tried to put a hit out on his mother. No Jumper posted alleged paperwork connecting YNW Melly to the green-lighting somebody to murder his mother.
“Yes. If you read his phone, there’s narcotics trafficking and firearms violations authorizing the killing of his mother. Those are the things that you would consider ‘authorizing,’” prosecutors wrote, when asked if they believed he had authorized any other killings.
The rapper denied the allegations. “LIES. FALSE AGENDA. INNOCENT!!” Melly posted on Instagram Story.
