Two Brothers Surrender To Police After Beating 73-Year-Old Man To Death In Viral Video
Two brothers turned themselves into Philadelphia police Monday after the vicious beating death of 73-year-old James Lambert that was captured on camera, police said.
The siblings, ages 10 and 14, surrendered to authorities in connection to the fatal attack by a group of young people. As we previously reported, Lambert was hit with a traffic cone during the June 24 attack and died from his injuries a day later.
Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner spoke with CBS 3 Philly and said the investigation is very active and juveniles involved could likely face murder charges “certainly on the very limited information we have.”

Authorities released the video last Friday of James Lambert being viciously attacked by a group of seven teens just after 3 a.m. on June 14 as he was walking across Cecil B. Moore Avenue, police told NBC10.
The footage shows Lambert attempting to walk away from the group as they follow him across the street before one of the male teens hits the victim from behind with a cone. The collision knocked Lambert to the ground. While he was down, a girl picks up the same cone and throws it at him as another one in the group records on his phone, the video shows.
Lambert seems to get up and run down the sidewalk away from the teenagers. But the same girl picks up the cone again, chases down Lambert and throws it at him once more while some of the teens smile and laugh.
The Philadelphia Police Department is still offering a $20,000 reward to lead them to the rest of the children responsible.
