Drew Barrymore was accused of racism after a TikToker claimed she copied Black TikTokers who frolicked in the rain months before her viral video.

The accusation was made by TikToker @amushroomblackly, who stated Barrymore disrespected the boundaries Black creators set because it was similar to the frolicking trend they started earlier this year.

She said, ‘You and I both know you are capable of enjoying the rain, frolicking freely, without filming it and posting it to TikTok. Barrymore recorded and uploaded a video of herself enjoying the rain with the caption ‘whenever you can enjoy the rain! Do not miss the opportunity.’

After @amushroomblackly accused the actress of racism, several TikTokers responded and said there was nothing racist about Barrymore’s actions.

After facing backlash for the comment, amushroomblackly tried to clarify but doubled down on her statements. She claimed that although Drew Barrymore had a rough childhood, it was nothing compared to what she dealt with growing up as a Black woman.
