Boosie Badazz Defends YNW Melly Amid Prison Escape Allegations
Boosie Badazz Insinuates They’re Framing YNW Melly
YNW Melly made news when a Florida Sheriff’s Office claimed that the rapper was planning to escape jail and that one of his attorneys was his alleged accomplice.
But Boosie Badazz is not buying the story. According to the Louisiana native, they’re trying to frame Melly.
“WHEN A D.A Tryin to convict you they use tactics to assassinate your character before trial. THEY said I was tryin to get rid of the D.A n his family n that never came to mind. It was a made up lie(war tactic )I def don’t think MELLY tried to escape with a lawyer think about,” Boosie tweeted.

Melly has been locked up in the Broward County jail since February 2019 as he awaits trial for the alleged double homicide of Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas, Jr. and Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams.
“On April 11, 2022, Broward Sheriff’s Office received a confidential tip regarding inmates Nicholas Lewis and Jamell Demons, both housed in the same unit at the Main Jail, planning an escape from jail by having Demons’ attorney bring in two handcuff keys to aid in the escape. Additional information provided by the source was that Lewis had a shank and drugs,” the statement reads.
Cops say they received a tip about the alleged jailbreak from another inmate. They discovered a six-inch shank, two razor blades, two lighters, and rolling papers in another inmate’s cell. Lewis also had Seroquel and Klonopin pills in his possession.
“The confidential source gave us two pieces of information. One of them [about the shank and drugs] turned out to be a hundred percent true,” Christian Tsoubanos, Assistant General Counsel for the Broward Sheriff’s Office told the court.
