Arby’s Manager Found Dead Inside A Walk-In Freezer In Louisiana
Arby’s Manager Found Dead Inside A Walk-In Freezer, Was Inside For At Least 6-10 Hours
A Louisiana woman who died after she became trapped in the walk-in freezer of an Arby’s restaurant was inside for at least six to 10 hours before the authorities were notified. Her family is now suing Arby’s for her death.
Nguyet Le, 63, worked as an Arby’s general manager and was opening the restaurant in New Iberia, La., when she became stuck inside the freezer on May 11 “and beat her hands bloody trying to escape or get someone’s attention,” her family said in the suit.
She died of hypothermia, and what’s heartbreaking about this is that she was there for so long she “collapsed into a fetal position face down on the frozen floor.”

Her son, Nguyen Le, was the one who found her body. He worked at the restaurant with his mom. Both had relocated to that location from Houston on a temporary assignment.
‘A former New Iberia Arby’s employee told Nguyen Le and his siblings that the restaurant’s walk-in freezer latch had been broken since August 2022 and employees used a screwdriver to open and close the door.
At other times, a box of oil was used to keep the door open, according to the petition. The family is seeking damages of at least $1 million. Her other three children are Tiffani, Nina and Trina.
They are seeking a trial by jury and are suing to recover damages and relief over her death, past and future mental anguish, conscious pain and suffering, loss of support and loss of love and affection, the complaint shows.’
