Angela Basset Now The Highest Paid Black Actress On TV, Making $10M A Year
Congratulations are in order for popular actress Angela Bassett – she’s now officially the highest paid Black actress on television.
According to reports reaching us at Dreddsworld, Angela will be the highest paid actor of color on television after earning another raise for 9-1-1 season seven.
Since premiering in 2018, 9-1-1 has been a smash-hit procedural for Fox. The series stars Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Rockmond Dunbar, and Aisha Hinds as first responders in Los Angeles, exploring “the high-pressure experiences.”

The show is set to return for a seventh season, and Angela’s new paycheck will rank as one of the highest for an actress of color in a network drama.
Word on the curb is that her salary will jump from $450,000 per episode to $500,000 – earning her a cool $10 milli for next season.
Angela is an actress. Known for her work in film and television since the late 1980s, she has received various accolades, including two Golden Globe Awards, in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2023.
Bassett had her breakthrough portraying singer Tina Turner in the biopic What’s Love Got to Do with It (1993), which won her a Golden Globe Award and a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress.
