Angela Bassett To Receive An Honorary Oscar Award

Angela Bassett is finally receiving her Oscar, an honorary one!

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences announced today that Angela Bassett along with 3 other figures in Hollywood will receive the prestigious award.

“The Academy’s Board of Governors is thrilled to honor four trailblazers who have transformed the film industry and inspired generations of filmmakers and movie fans,” said Academy President Janet Yang.

This honorary award comes after she lost the main show award this past year for her role in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.

Angela Evelyn Bassett (born August 16, 1958) is an American actress. Known for her work in film and television since the late 1980s, she has received various accolades, including two Golden Globe Awards, in addition to nominations for two Academy Awards and seven Primetime Emmy Awards.

Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2023, and she will receive the Academy Honorary Award later in the year.
