Blair Underwood Marries Longtime ‘Friend’ Josie Hart After Divorcing Wife Of 27 Years

Blair Underwood married his longtime friend Josie Hart over the weekend, in an intimate ceremony in the Dominican Republic.

Two years ago Blair decided to end his marriage of 27 years to his wife and life partner Desiree. It was a shocking end to what many onlookers believed was a happy and successful marriage.

While neither Blair, nor Desiree have spoken out about what ended the marriage, Desiree, 53, was devastated by the end of her marriage. And she’s still having trouble coming to grips with the fact that she’s no longer Mrs Underwood.

But Blair seemed to move on quickly. Shortly after leaving his wife, Blair shortly found love again with Josie – who was a longtime friend of both Blair and Desiree.

Over the weekend, Blair and Desiree got married.

“I’ve been very involved,” Underwood, 58, told People magazine. In front of 100 guests, including actress Kim Fields and actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner ,the two were wed on June 24 Casa de Campo Resort & Villas in the Dominican Republic. “I’m a Virgo and a bit of a perfectionist so I like to make sure details are taken care of.”

“It was a beautiful, soul-touching celebration of kindred spirits, love and family; as incredible as Josie and as phenomenal as Blair,” says Fields.
