Police Officer Punches Handcuffed Woman, 59, Who Spit On Him

Body camera video has been released showing the moment a Colorado police officer punches a woman in the face…after she spits on him while she was in custody.

The wild incident happened last month. LPD said officers responded around 8:30 p.m. on May 20 to a report of a woman wandering in and out of traffic and speaking incoherently.

When officers arrived at the scene, they came across the woman identified as Angelia Hall, and placed her into protective custody.

Front there, they took the 59-year-old to a local hospital for evaluation. However, while there she’s seen acting belligerent, yelling at the officers and nurses. “F–cking authority, b–tch, f–cking asswipe, f–cking d–k. F–king even don’t touch me.”

Hall then spits twice and her saliva hita officer Russell Maranto. With a quick reaction, Maranto, 28, lifts his hand off Hall’s shoulder and punches her in square in the face.

“Oh, you f–king piece of s–t. See what he does?” Hall yells as she becomes emotional and even more upset . “I want f–king video of that. I have my hands back, I can’t even fight back against that rust … I can’t even save my life.” Maranto is then asked by another cop, Nicholas Hobbs, to step back and “chill.”

After the use of force incident, Mr. Maranto was fired on May 23, according to the Loveland Police Department. Loveland Police Chief Tim Doran explained in a video released Friday why they made the decision to let the 28-year-old officer go.
