Father Shoots Crossbow At Wife Holding Their 3-Week-Old Daughter During A Domestic Dispute, Hit The Baby In Torso & Killed Her

This story is so sad! A 26-year-old father has been charged with murder after his newborn daughter was shot and killed with a crossbow. The baby was reportedly struck during a domestic dispute between the baby’s parents.

According to OKC News, an emergency crew was called to the home of the father, Patrick Profriedt, after receiving reports about a woman and an infant being shot with a crossbow.

Proefriedt allegedly struck the mother while she was holding their 3-week-old baby in her arms, while the two were arguing with each other.

The infant was unfortunately hit in her upper torso, piercing through her armpit before striking her mother in her chest.

Proefriedt attempted to remove the arrow but failed, leading him to flee the scene in his pickup truck before authorities arrived. The man was later located by police within an hour after his truck became stuck in mud nearby the area.

An effort to save the infant was made after performing lifesaving measures on the baby but she succumbed to her injuries. She was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.

The mother was hospitalized but her condition has not been updated. Proefriedt is being charged with 2nd degree murder and attempted murder with a first degree criminal contempt for violating an order of protection charge
