Ja Morant Films Himself Holding A Toy Gun After Second Firearm Incident

Ja Morant is currently suspended from all team activities after he was seen holding what appeared to be a firearm in a social media live stream on May 13.

This was less than three months after he brandished a firearm in a separate live stream on March 4 at Shotgun Willie’s strip club in Glendale, Colo.

Ja Morant’s friends claim it was actually a toy gun but the claim didn’t receive much attention. Just in time, a video of Ja Morant holding a toy gun just after the second incident is now going viral.

The video seemingly proves he was truly holding a toy gun in the viral clip. However, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said he doesn’t think it matters if it was a toy gun.

During an interview on “The Dan Patrick Show,” Silver questioned if it should even matter whether the gun in the second video was real, as Morant previously served an eight-game suspension for the first incident.

“It’s interesting,” Silver said, adding that he is aware of reports of Morant’s camp claiming he didn’t have a real gun in the second video.

“It’s something that I’m thinking a lot about because, again, I’m not going to get into specifics about the investigation — but in fact, if you’re live streaming something to the world that looks exactly like a gun and in a frankly reckless manner, should it matter whether or not it’s a real gun?”
