Parents Charged After 5-Year-Old Boy High On Cocaine Fatally Shoots Baby Brother In The Head

This story is just really sad! It’s being reported that a 5-year old boy from La Porte, Indiana fatally shot his younger brother.

He did so as a result of allegedly being hooked on cocaine and the younger brother had marijuana in his system at the time of his death.

According to the New York Post, the 5-year old in question shot his toddler brother in the head while he was under the influence of cocaine after finding a handgun in his parent’s drug den.

The boys’ father, Jermaine Johnson, recalls the incident, stating that he “heard a boom” before finding his 16-month old baby boy dead. He also claims he was napping on the couch at the time of the incident.

The parent’s, Jermaine and Shatia, who were previously charged with neglect and drug related charges, now have been charged with drug dealing and possession charges.

Jermaine was also charged with obstruction of justice after attempting to hide the marijuana from police. Shatia was previously charged with possessing and dealing narcotics and marijuana just four weeks prior.

The gun apparently belonged to the mother, Shatia, as well. While searching the home, police also found around 93 fentanyl pills, marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia in the parent’s apartment. No word on what will happen to the couple’s 5-year old son.
