Abusive Couple Charged With 49 Felonies After Police Rescue 6 Children From Their Home Found In Dog Cages

Video footage captured the moment Vegas police rescued 6 kids from an apartment where they were being abused by a couple. Travis Doss, 31, and his pregnant wife Amanda Stamper, 33, reportedly had 2 of the 6 children locked in cages while the other 4 were considered severely beaten—all of the children were under the age of 11.

According to Daily Mail, the story leading to the children’s discovery began after Stamper called police to a near Walgreens where she said she was hiding from her husband because he allegedly threatened to kill her.

Stamper says Doss sent her a picture of one of the children in a cage and claimed that he’d kicked him so hard in the head he thought he was dead. Stamper said she believed the boy was dead for the past 5 days. Upon entering the apartment, police reportedly discovered a pitbull roaming the apartment while two of the children were locked in the cages. They briefly described what they saw when they with the first child.

“Two black eyes that were swollen shut, multiple marks and bruises all over his body, and he was emaciated,’ police said. The child was in such a state that his father thought he had beaten him to death.”

After getting them out of the apartment safely the children began to speak on everything in detail. They revealed they’d been abused by their father with belts, cords, and even a frying pan. They’d also reportedly been starved and fed McDonald’s fries as a meal between the 6 of them majority of the time they’d been locked up.

Stamper also mentioned to police that she was Doss’ sex worker and that she was abused as well not just the children. “I’m sorry I didn’t call sooner”.

Stamper said as she explained to police that she was scared of what would happen to her if she told. As of right now, Doss is being charged with 42 offenses and Stamper is only being charged with 7. The couple has already made an appearance in court where they plead not guilty.
