Detroit Man Injured After Being Hit By Flying Phone While Riding A Roller Coaster
A metro Detroit man was injured in the head after being hit by a flying phone at Cedar Point.
The incident happened over the weekend while he was riding the Maverick roller coaster. Another rider’s phone hit him straight in the head while the roller coaster was going 70+ miles.
“While riding The Maverick roller coaster, another patron on the same train decided to ignore the multiple rules and suggestions in place to store all loose articles in the bin before riding. As a result, towards the end of the ride, I was hit in the head with their cell phone,” said David Carter in a Facebook post.”

“This resulted in an open head wound that bled for over an hour, as well as a diagnosed concussion.”
Cedar Point confirmed a guest was injured and treated by a first aid team before he was released.
This is not the first time a patron was injured by a flying object. A Michigan woman suffered a traumatic brain injury when a metal piece from a Cedar Point roller coaster fell off and hit her in 2021.
In July of this year, she filed a lawsuit against Cedar Point.
