It’s no secret that Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj are the new dynamic duo we didn’t know we needed in 2023. From the Princess Diana remix to Barbie World, the two have been serving bops all year.

While speaking with The Guardian, Ice Spice opens up about what having such a powerhouse rapper in her corner is like so early in her career.

“She be telling me to learn from her mistakes – just watching her in general, if you pay close enough attention, you gonna see what you should do,” she says.

Ice says she loves to have Nicki as a confidant because they are able to talk about things that the public doesn’t always get to see.

“I love to talk to her about things that I can’t talk about publicly – it just means so much to be able to have somebody like her.”

Ice Spice rose to prominence in late 2022 with her song “Munch (Feelin’ U)”, which achieved viral popularity on TikTok. She followed it up with singles “Bikini Bottom” and “In Ha Mood”, leading up to her debut extended play, Like..? (2023).

She achieved her first entry on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart with the Lil Tjay collaboration “Gangsta Boo”. She released “Barbie World” with Minaj and Aqua, as part of the soundtrack of the upcoming fantasy comedy film Barbie.
