JT Launches ‘No Bars Reform’ To Help Formerly Incarcerated Women Navigate Through Society

Not only did JT drop her anticipated freestyle “No Bars” yesterday, she also launched the ‘No Bars Reform’ program to help formerly incarcerated women migrate back into society.

On the official website, there are many resources provided, including employment, housing, therapy, substance abuse help, and even opportunities for people to get involved and join communities to help other women.

In the mission statement, JT says during her time in prison she met so many amazing women and she wanted to do something to help those women who were in her same shoes.

“After spending almost two years in a Florida prison before being released in 2020, JT has vowed to use her voice and platform to help other incarcerated women rehabilitate in society by assisting with resources such as therapy, job placement, social services, and housing.”

Earlier this week, she dropped her new single, “No Bars,” her first since releasing 2019’s “JT First Day Out.” As one-half of popular rap duo City Girls, the 30-year-old emcee has heard people say a lot about her, but she has seldomly addressed any of the hearsay.

“No Bars” puts an end to that era of silence. In a new Instagram post, JT explained the backstory behind the track’s inspiration.

“‘No Bars’ is a freestyle I made in the studio when I was having one of those days. At the time, like most of the time, [people] were doubting me and questioning why I wasn’t as visual and vocal as others [without] knowing me personally,” she wrote in one of the five slides, which also featured photos of her.
