Nelly Sells Half Of His Catalog For $50 Million

A whole lot of congrats are in order for Nelly as the rapper just secured a $50M deal for half of his music catalog.

Nelly reportedly sold the rights over to some of his biggest musical hits that we all know and love.

TMZ tells us that Nelly is teaming up with a company by the name of HabourView Equity Partners for the deal. Some of the songs that were sold include “Ride Wit Me”, “Dilemma”, “Hot In Here”, and many more.

Which if you remember, “Dilemma” and “Hot In Here” both managed to snag a Grammy back in the early 2000’s.

Nelly’s catalog includes 8 albums and several #1 hit singles that charted all across the board.

Nelly has won multiple accolades throughout his career including three Grammy Awards and nine Billboard Music Awards. In 2005, he starred in the remake film The Longest Yard, alongside Adam Sandler and Chris Rock.

He has two clothing lines, Vokal and Apple Bottoms. He has been referred to by Peter Shapiro as “one of the biggest stars of the new millennium”, and as of 2014, Nelly was ranked as the fourth-best-selling rap artist in American music history, according to the RIAA, with 21 million albums sold in the United States. In December 2009, Billboard ranked Nelly the number three Top Artist of the Decade (2000s).
