Several Passengers Faint Aboard A Delta Las Vegas Flight In 111 Degree Heat

Several passengers reportedly began to faint aboard a Las Vegas airplane with no air conditioning—and get this, it was reportedly 111 degrees outside at the time everything occurred. Temperatures reportedly skyrocketed to 115 degrees.

According to the New York Post, the Delta airlines flight was initially on route to Atlanta when the pilot suddenly announced that the plane had to turn around due to multiple emergencies.

Sources tell us that flight attendants ran up and down the aisle as passengers began to pass out— some allegedly “soiling” themselves. At least five people were wheeled off the plane on stretchers and staff advised others to hit their call button if they were in need of a medical emergency.

If you were wondering if the flight attendants were affected, they were. Flight attendants reportedly also fell ill during the four hours the group was held on the airless plane.

At least one was wheeled off the plane on a stretcher while wearing an oxygen mask. Options for the passengers consisted of disembarking the plane or catching a follow-up flight. However, they warned them that there could be a delay in securing a flight if they did.

Delta airlines released a statement on the incident. “We apologize for the experience our customers had on flight 555 from Las Vegas to Atlanta on July 17, which ultimately resulted in a flight cancellation,” the statement said.

“Delta teams are looking into the circumstances that led to uncomfortable temperatures inside the cabin and we appreciate the efforts of our people and first responders at Harry Reid International.” All passengers received compensation and apologies for the inconveniences.
