Several Users Complain Of Stomach Paralysis After Using Weight Loss Drug ‘Ozempic’

An investigation has recently found that Ozempic, a popular weight-loss drug, is causing users to show distressing side effects—one being stomach paralysis!

The injectable medication is widely known to aid patients with diabetes but has seemingly become a fan favorite for those without the condition since it’s release in 2018.

Although there has been a shortage of the drug, according to CNN, at least 2 patients have ended up with paralyzed stomachs after using Ozempic. Yes, you read that correctly, their stomachs are paralyzed.

Joanie Knight, 37, described the toll the drug has taken on her life since then. “I wish I had never touched it. I wish I’d never heard of it in my life,” Knight said.

“This medicine made my life hell. So much hell. It costs me a lot of stress, it costs me days and nights and trips with my family. It’s cost me a lot, and it’s not worth it. The price is too high.” Knight and the 2nd patient, Emily Wright, both claim they started taking the drug a year ago to control the fluctuation of their weight.

Other side effects stated from the drug included vomiting multiple times a day, loss of appetite, and feelings of extreme illness. Both women were diagnosed with gastroparesis along with paralyzed stomachs.

Ozempic’s parent company, Novo Nordisk, defended the drug on their behalf in a statement explaining that “The most common adverse reactions, as with all GLP-1s, are gastrointestinal related.”
