Teen Gets Shot & Killed While Driving To Pick Up Food In Detroit

A family is mourning the loss of a teen who was shot and killed while picking up food in Detroit.

The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon on W. McNichols & Southfield freeway.

According to the family, the teen was driving to pick up food from Coney Island. Police say he was traveling on McNichols when a car pulled beside him and opened fire.

He was struck and rushed to the hospital. He was pronounced dead the next morning.

The victim was identified as 18-year-old Khalil Allen. His family says he just graduated high school and getting ready for college next month. Khalil was an athlete and an aspiring rapper & actor.

“Stop doing this,” Shushanna Shakur, his great aunt told WJBK-TV. “Stop killing each other it is nonsensical, it makes no sense and you’re cutting off pure talent and people’s lives that could bloom and blossom.”

The Investigation is still ongoing.
