3rd Grade Teacher Arrested For Public Intoxication After Showing Up To The First Day Of School Drunk As A Skunk

A 3rd grade teacher in Oklahoma found herself behind bars after she came to school on the first day drunk as hell!

According to Fox News, Kimberly Coates, 53, was approached by her district superintendent, Doug Ogle, and a school resource officer, Shane Dean, about possibly being intoxicated while on the job.

As seen on the body cam footage above, Coates continuously denied that she was drunk or was drinking. She initially said she took anxiety medicine the night before, but once the officer made her take a breathalyzer test, it was discovered that her alcohol level was at had .24– 3x the legal limit of 0.8.

Coates then admitted to drinking the night before, but the officer said the levels wouldn’t have been that high if it wasn’t recent. She then said she was drinking on the way to school, but not there.

After Ogle went to her classroom to gather her belongings, he discovered a blue cup that smelled of wine. He approached Coates about the cup, but she still continued to lie and say it was “juice” that she had the night before.

After a while, both Ogle and Dean became impatient with her lying and Coates refused to call her husband to pick her up, so they decided to arrest her for public intoxication.

“He determined that she was under the influence of alcohol, and she blew into a PBT and confirmed that she did have alcohol in her system,” Perkins Police Sgt. Spencer Gedon said. “The school got on it fast. As soon as there was a concern about that teacher, they went into action and did what they needed to do, and they were doing everything they could to make sure everyone was safe at the school.”
