An Atlanta high school football coach was arrested this weekend after he was caught punching a player in the stomach during a live broadcast of their game.
According to WSBTV, a coach at Benjamin E. Mays High School on the sidelines hit a student in the stomach.
The player can be seen stumbling backwards slightly and doubling over. The incident happened during the first quarter of the school’s game against Douglas County High School at Eddie. S Henderson Stadium in midtown Atlanta.

According to the school district, the man was not an instructor at the school, but an assistant coach who sometimes helped with the team.
“A lay coach for Mays High School, who is not a classroom instructor, is in police custody after an incident that occurred on the sideline during the school’s game this afternoon against Douglas County High School,” said Seth Coleman, APS media relations director.
The man is to be charged with simple battery and he has been fired as a coach.
