Iggy Azalea Reveals She Hired Tory Lanez As Executive Producer For Her Next Album
Iggy Azalea said she hired Tory Lanez to executive produce her next album, even though he was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the shooting of rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
“If Daystar is able to remain in the United States after he has served time, [she] would employ him without hesitation as an executive producer on [her] next album In fact – I already hired him for the job prior to his conviction!” she wrote in her letter to the judge.
Iggy continued to praise Lanez in her letter, adding “I deeply appreciate the person he is and have never witnessed him loose his temper or raise his voice at a woman. He’s always been incredibly respectful of me and I refuse to believe that he would do anything in malice especially to a woman.”
Here is Iggy Azalea’s full letter to Tory Lanez’s sentencing judge.
I have the other 75 letters written for Lanez’s sentencing and will be live on YouTube at 12 pm PST / 3 pm EST to discuss: https://t.co/d2PD3TPsxx pic.twitter.com/9gmhcoDErL

The rapper later tweeted that she did not believe her letter would ever be seen by the public. Fans are calling for her to be canceled.
According to TMZ, Tory’s attorney, Jose Baez, spoke with the outlet and said Tory ‘is having a hard time processing the sentence,’ but also notes that he vowed to ‘remain strong and deal with his time behind bars as best as he can.’
Tory was apparently hopeful that the judge would show mercy on him after receiving a number of letters from people, including celebs, standing by his side. “To get a ten-year sentence is extreme and just another example of someone being punished for their celebrity status and someone being utilized to send an example. And he’s not an example, he’s a human being,” Baez told reporters.
Baez added that Lanez is “incredibly sad and down” as any other person would be. His attorney let it be known that an appeal is coming soon.
