NFL Star Michael Oher Claims His Family Never Adopted Him Despite ‘Blind Side’ Movie Storyline
Retired NFL star Michael Oher, 37, also known for the 2009 film based on his life story, ‘The Blind Side’, has recently petitioned a Tennessee court Monday with allegations that him being adopted was a lie concocted by the family to enrich themselves at his expense.
If you can recall, in the movie, Oher was a homeless black teen that struggled in and out of the school system, Leigh Anne Tuohy and her Husband Sean take young Oher in as their own and help him pursue his football career.
Oher reportedly learned that the Conservatorship to which he consented on did not legally make him a member of the family.

Well, according to the 14-page petition, filed by Oher upon discovering the news this year, Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, never adopted him. Instead, the petition claims the couple tricked him into signing a document making them his conservators less than three months after Oher turned 18– this gave them legal authority to make business deals in his name.
Furthermore, Oher alleges that the Tuohys used their ‘power’ as conservators to secure a deal that earned them and their family millions of dollars in royalties—the Oscar-winning film reportedly made more than $300 million, while Oher allegedly got nothing for a story he feels “would not have existed without him.”
Since then, the Tuohys have continued claiming Oher as their adopted son and have allegedly used that assertion to promote their foundation as well as Leigh Anne Tuohy’s work as an author and motivational speaker.
Oher’s petition asks the court to end the Tuohys’ conservatorship and to issue an injunction barring them from using his name and likeness. The petition also seeks a full accounting of the money the Tuohys earned using Oher’s name, and to have the couple pay him his fair share of profits, as well as unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.
