Tuohy Family Admits To Having Michael Oher Sign Conservatorship, Claims It Was For His Benefit
According to documents obtained by TMZ, not only has the Tuohy family broken their silence, but they are claiming their adopted son, Michael Oher, tried to shake them down for $15M before he presented his 14-page petition about them in court.
Now if you remember, we previously reported a story revealing Oher claiming that the Tuohy’s allegedly tricked him into signing a conservatorship giving them the rights to make enriching deals with his name.
We also revealed that the Tuohy family technically never adopted him either in legal terms.

The Tuohy’s family attorney, Marty Singer, said this is not the first time Oher has done this. In fact, Singer claims that Oher threatened them, saying if they didn’t provide him with an eight-figure check, that he would “plant a negative story about them in the press.”
Singer also cleared up the conservatorship allegations, stating that Tuohy’s never tricked him into signing anything. “The conservatorship was established to assist with Mr. Oher’s needs, ranging from getting him health insurance and obtaining a driver’s license to helping with college admissions,” Singer said.
“Should Mr. Oher wish to terminate the conservatorship, either now or at anytime in the future, the Tuohys will never oppose it in any way.”
Furthermore, Singer claimed that the Tuohy’s recently tried to share a small advance from a production company in regards to the film and have always cut checks from the film with Oher.
