Several Students Tased By School Officer & Arrested After Massive Brawl At Chalmette High School

Several students were tased by a school resource officer in the midst of a crazy brawl that occurred on campus.

According to 4WWL News, a numerous amount of students attending Chalmette High School were engaged in a full-blown brawl in the middle of a hallway on the second floor of the campus Friday morning.

A Student Resource Officer for the school, along with backup from the Sheriff’s Department, attempted to break up the brawl. In doing so, the officer deployed his taser and proceeded use it on several students involved.

Several videos of the incident have been posted online where the officer can be heard yelling “Get down, get down on the ground” numerous times to the students after tasing them. As of now, eight students were arrested and two teachers suffered from mild injuries.

The school district released a statement saying, “Today at Chalmette High School an altercation occurred in which the school resource officers, school staff, and local law enforcement immediately responded.”

The students involved have been removed from campus, and classes have resumed as normal. It is the school system’s number one priority to protect the educational environment of all students, and today’s behavior does not reflect the school or district values or culture.”

The statement continues, “Chalmette High School will continue to work alongside local law enforcement as we ensure safety and security at our school.”
