15-Year-Old Suspect Grinning While Being Arrested For Drive-By Shooting Of 6-Year-Old & Her Brother

A 15-year-old Florida teen is facing first degree murder charge after allegedly shooting Isaiyah Wright, 19, and his 6-year-old sister Ajahliyah Hashim, in a drive-by. The siblings’ mother was also reportedly struck by a stray bullet during the incident.

The suspect, Nico Brown, was spotted flashing a giant grin in his perp walk as police led him in handcuffs to a squad car. He can be seen wearing a T-shirt, shorts and a pair of slides.

According to the New York Post, police reportedly responded to a 911 call after a neighbor said they heard rapid gunfire shots around 8pm at night. The neighbors also stated they saw several bullet markings at the victims’ home, with a dozen more outside. “They were really shooting,” the neighbor said.

Ajahliyah and her mom, Stacy Hall, were reportedly sitting in the living room when they were struck by the bullets. Hall and her daughter were not intended targets, police revealed.

Both Ajahliyah and Isaiyah were taken to the hospital where they unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. Hall suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Hall says she is still uncertain what led up to the incident in a statement during a candle candlelight vigil for the two. “I don’t know if he was a target,” Hall said. “I don’t know if he was set up. There’s a lot of things going through my head regarding my son.”

Superintendent at Ajahliyah’s elementary school, Maria Vazquez, wrote a statement about the incident. “Our students should not have to live in a world where their lives are in danger in their own neighborhoods,” it read. “We can not accept that these tragedies have become all too common in our community.”

No further statement on Brown’s court appearance date has been released.
