2 Killed & Dozens Injured After Charter Bus Carrying Long Island Students Overturns
It has been confirmed that at least two adults have unfortunately passed away after a bus carrying New York City students crashed en route to a band camp.
According to ABC News, dozens of students were injured at the site of the crash in Orange County. Five students are in critical condition.
The crash is said to have been caused by a faulty front tire, prompting the vehicle to roll off of Interstate 84 into a 50-feet ravine. 40 students and four adults of Farmingdale High School were aboard the bus at the time of the crash.

“There’s a lot of families that need some love tonight. And we extend that from 20 million New Yorkers,” said New York Gov. Kathy Hochul.
State police identified the two adult victims as 77-year-old Beatrice Ferrara and 43-year-old Gina Pellettiere. Pellettiere was the school’s Director of Bands.
It is reported that five other buses from Farmingdale were traveling as well, but stopped to provide students the opportunity to meet with grief counselors.
The investigation is ongoing.
