Columbus Short Named His Son Denzel Because Denzel Washington Treated Him Like A Lil Nigga

Actor Columbus Short has taken his obsession with Denzel Washington to a new extreme.

During a recent interview with “Moguls in the Making.” Columbus revealed that Denzel kept “little n*gga’n” him. How? Well, Columbus says Denzel didn’t give him the respect he thought he deserved.

“He kept making me feel like a little n*gga,” Columbus explained.

Columbus says that treatment from Denzel made the decision on what to name his son pretty easy. When his wife asked what they’d name the baby, he said “I was like Denzel,” he explained. “Cause why? Cause now he’s my lil n*gga.”

The podcast host was so shocked and disturbed that all he could say was “mmm….that’s deep” before nervously laughing.

Columbus Keith Short Jr. is an actor and choreographer. He choreographed Britney Spears’s Onyx Hotel Tour and worked with Brian Friedman (of So You Think You Can Dance fame). He is best known for his roles in the films Stomp the Yard, Cadillac Records, Armored, and The Losers.

He previously starred as a series regular in the ABC drama Scandal, as Harrison Wright. On April 26, 2014, it was announced that Short would leave Scandal after three seasons with the show.
