Former NFL Player Sergio Brown Missing, 73-Year-Old Mother Found Dead Behind Her Home

A family and community are searching for answers after a former football’s player mother was found dead near a creek in Maywood, Illinois on Saturday.

According to multiple reports, former NFL player Sergio Brown and his 73-year-old mother, Myrtle, were reported missing by family this week.

After a brief search, police were able to locate his mother unresponsive near a creek behind her home.

Police says the home appeared “out of the ordinary” and are investigating the case as a homicide.

Sergio was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New England Patriots in 2010 before becoming their starting safety.

He still hasn’t been located and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

The news has since gone viral on social media, garnering mixed reactions from folks online. Some are speculating he did while others are not buying the speculations and hoping he’s not a victim as well.
