A former Popeyes employee made it a point to leave the establishment with a bang after being let go for recording TikToks on the job. ___________________________________________ Tykeia Ransom was a Popeyes worker for roughly two months before her departure. She was told by her supervisor that she was being fired for recording inside the restaurant; which is supposedly against Popeyes policy. Although she informs the manager she wasn’t aware of this rule, the supervisor remains firm on her dismissal from the job because videos on the app often go “viral”. Ransom calmly replied “alright“ before she proceeds to capture a throng of cockroaches in the restaurant’s kitchen. ___________________________________________ The videos definitely went viral with almost 100,000 views on TikTok of roach central right in the restaurant. Ransom captured roaches pregnant, dead, playing spades, jumping in grease - just enjoying themselves on the job! Employees seemed unfazed by what must be assumed as a normal occurrence of roaches on kitchen appliances and food containers. Ransom told Fox 13 Memphis that she’d informed her manager of the roach sightings several times before, but nothing changed. “If I didn’t get fired or didn’t say anything, they would still be serving the rice with the roaches.” According to Fox 13 Memphis, the viral videos led to the restaurant’s temporary closure. The restaurant is located in Memphis on Showcase Blvd.
