New England Patriots’ Fan Dies After Getting Punched In The Face By A Miami Dolphins Fan

A Patriots fan has passed away after he was punched in the face during Sunday’s game.

According to NBC10, Dale Mooney, 53, was attending a Patriots game at Gillette Stadium with some friends when they all got into a physical altercation with Miami Dolphin fans in the stands.

Witnesses say Mooney was punched in the face and hit the ground hard. Once an EMT arrived, he was rushed to the hospital, where he unfortunately never regained consciousness from getting knocked out and was pronounced dead.

Mooney’s wife, Lisa, said she feels “numb” and is seeking answers about the tragedy. “I want to know what happened. What caused this?” she told WCVB. “I just don’t understand why people have to go to that extreme. Why can’t it just be fun? That’s all it’s supposed to be — a fun family event.”

Lisa says Dale, a father of two and season ticket holder for 30 years, says her husband doesn’t have a quick temper, so she doesn’t understand how things escalated.

“It takes a lot to get him mad. He has the patience of a saint. I don’t know what happened,” Lisa told the outlet, adding that her husband had no medical condition that she knew of.

As of right now, no criminal charges have been made, but there is one man allegedly in custody. The official cause of death will be determined once the autopsy is completed. This is terrible.
