17-Year-Old High School Student Sentenced To 40 Years In Prison For Choking His Teacher Unconscious & Raping Her In The Classroom
A 17-year-old high school student will be spending the next 16 to 40 years in prison after he choked and raped his teacher during school hours in her own classroom.
According to 8 News Now, this horrible incident took place at Eldorado High School in Las Vegas, NV. In the newly released surveillance video, Jonathan Garzia-Martinez., who was 16 at the time, was walking down the school hallway and attempted to open a classroom door, but it was locked.
He then walked away, but Sade, the teacher who was attacked, opened the door and peaked her head out signally for Jonathan to come back in. From there, it became a nightmare.

Sade says Jonathan attacked her immediately upon entering the room. She asked him why he was doing this, and he replied that he “didn’t like teachers,” so he was “getting revenge.” He then choked her unconscious and began to sexually assault her. When she came back, he was still on top of her and her pants were pulled down. He then poured some type of liquid on her and was about to set it on fire. He even threw a bookshelf on top of her and was about to slit her wrist.
“I would wake up in a new spot and position each time knowing that he’d just drag my limp, and near lifeless body to a different part of the classroom to do whatever he so chose to do with my body, as I lay unconscious. He’d beat my body so badly that I could no longer fight,” she said. “I was being crushed to near death,” she explained.
“Sade remembers him saying, ‘Why won’t you just die?’” Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney William Rowles shared with the court during sentencing.
Jonathan pleaded guilty to attempted murder, battery with use of a deadly weapon resulting in substantial bodily harm, and attempted sexual assault. The teen claimed he “blacked out” at the moment, but later confessed he knew what he was doing. The judge decided to give him 40 years in prison with a minimum of 16 years served.
