Dwyane Wade Says He’s Been Getting His Nails Painted Since 2007

Dwyane Wade credits the men in his life for his fashion sense. He claims they taught him at a young age how to properly dress and groom himself.

During an interview with Highsnobiety, the former NBA player spoke candidly about how his father and uncles were role models for him when it came to his appearance.

“My father has always been a man who would take care of himself. My uncles took care of themselves,” he said. “I wanted to be one of them sharp-dressed men who smelled good, who stayed clean-shaved, and all that..I’ve been getting my nails painted since 2007,” Wade continued.

The former basketball point guard says clothes are one of the first things he notices on a person. “I’m all about scanning details of people, because it shows you a lot about how people care about themselves.”

As for his opinion on his own clothes, Wade says he puts that sh** on. “Me and my body, we love putting on clothes,” Wade said. “It’s not something I play around with. It’s a part of my personality, it’s a part of my lifestyle. So I’m not just wearing clothes. I put that s*** on.”

As you’d expect, there have been mixed reactions from fans over his revelation. “You Sweet. Ya Uncles Sweet. Ya son girl SWEET. Yall The Koolaid Boyz,” a fan commented. “Yall trying so hard to normalize painted nails on men lol,” the second most liked comment reads.

“He slowly telling us he was touched inappropriately,” another person wrote. “I’m not laying up with no man with color toes!!” someone else shared. A fifth user joked: “We really owe Chris Bosh an apologv we had the wrong guy mane.”
