Jalen Green Wins Player Of The Week, Says His Family & Baby Keep Him Motivated

NBA star Jalen Green, made controversial headlines earlier this month after it was announced that the 22 year old is expecting a baby with 39-year-old Draya Michele, who already has two children.

However, the Rockets guard is not letting the negativity get to him, instead he’s channeled it as a drive to stay motivated.

Just in time, The NBA has announced that Jalen Green was named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played from Monday, March 11 through Sunday, March 17 (Week 21). Congratulations are in order for Jalen, it’s really commendable that he kept his head up amid the backlash he’s been getting on social media.

Jalen was interviewed in the courtyard and he was asked what has been motivating him. “You have been explosive what is motivating you?” the interviewer asked. “My family.. my baby,” Jalen responded.

The Rockets went 3-0 last week and outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 points regardless of playing without Sengun who was injured at Sacramento on March 10. Jalen averaged team-highs of 26.3 points and 8.7 rebounds for the week while shooting 49.2% from the floor and 45.8% from 3-point range.

On Saturday, the soon to be father recorded his fifth double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds vs. Cleveland after previously scoring a season-high 37 points vs. Washington on Thursday. Green as well tallied 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists at San Antonio on Tuesday.

Just last week, Jalen Green was dragged across social media after his shirtless photo surfaced online, showing he has a tattoo of Draya’s name on him. “She put that ochie Wally Wally on him,” someone joked.
