Kobe Bryant’s 2000 Lakers Championship Ring That He Gifted His Father Is Up For Auction, Highest Bid Is $94K

Kobe Bryant’s 2000 NBA championship ring is currently available for bidding as part of Goldin Auctions’ March Elite Sports Auction, a sports memorabilia and auction marketplace company, announced.

According to reports reaching us at Dreddsworld, 7 bids were placed as of Thursday evening, and as of this moment, the highest bid is $94,000.

The 14-karat gold ring features 40 diamonds and it was originally gifted to Kobe’s father, Joe Bryant, by his son. A copy of the 14k gold ring was given to Joe, after the Lakers won the title in a six-game series over the Indiana Pacers after setting a 67-15 record during a regular season. Bidding for the ring reportedly ends March 30 at 10 p.m.

The late NBA icon’s mother, Pamela Bryant, was also gifted an identical ring by her son that sold for $206K in 2020 through Goldin Auctions, according to
Business Insider. Pamela Bryant initially sold the ring in 2013 for $280,000 to a private collector.

Goldin Auctions notes in the description of the ring that “this is not an executive version of the Championship ring, but the same EXACT ring given to Kobe Bryant and other Lakers players.”

In 2000, the late Los Angeles Lakers guard won the first of 5 titles when the Lakers won a six-game finals series over the Indiana Pacers, marking the team’s first championship since 1988.

Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gigi and seven others tragically died in a helicopter crash in January 2020.
