On March 31, 2019, Nipsey Hussle was shot at least 10 times in the parking lot of his store, Marathon Clothing, in South Central Los Angeles at 3:18 p.m. The killer also kicked Hussle in the head. Two others were wounded in the shooting.

All three victims were transported to a hospital, where Hussle was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. He was 33 years old. Police identified then-29-year-old Eric Ronald Holder Jr. as the suspect.

Investigators believed Holder was known to the rapper and that the shooting was possibly motivated by a personal matter. On April 2, 2019, Holder was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department and was being held in solitary confinement.

Today makes it four years since Nipsey Hussle passed away and his wife Lauren London, has taken time out to pay him tribute. Taking to Instagram, Lauren wrote: “If you know me. You know March is always tough for me, 31 days of holding my breath.”

She continued, “This day decided to fall on Easter Sunday this 2024 Interesting…. considering your name #GodWillRise Energy never dies…. Love you. Eternal.”

On his posthumous birthday back in August, Lauren London Mayor shared a photo to Instagram of the late rapper holding up prayer hands and looking into the camera, with an array of gold chains draped around his neck.

“Honoring the day you blessed the Earth with your presence. Forever more,” the actress wrote on what would’ve been his 38th birthday, adding “I love you” and a blue heart emoji to the end of her message.
