Lizzo Quits Music Following Intense Criticism Of Her Look: “The World Doesn’t Want Me”

Lizzo took fans by surprise after announcing that she’s quitting music. She made the dramatic post few hours ago, which comes as a shock to many. The 35-year-old singer revealed she was putting fame behind her as she was ‘tired of getting dragged by everyone‘ and being criticized because of how she looks.

“I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet. All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it,” she wrote in a lengthy post.

“I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views… being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look… my character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name.” The “Truth Hurts” singer added, “I didn’t sign up for this sh*t. I QUIT.”

Fans have since been reacting to her announcement. “We have to be honest, there is a lot of negativity online & celebs are human too,” someone commented. “She must got some new music coming! This routine getting played out,” another person wrote. “Yall literally bully celebrity’s like they aren’t real people with feelings like everyone else. It’s weird and sad,” someone else penned.

“I’ve notice that ‘Protect Black Women” only applies to black women everyone likes,” another user wrote. “Somebody tell her we don’t dgaf, respectfully,” someone added harshly.

Lizzo has been having difficulties navigating through the industry after she was accused of sexually harassing her back up dancers. She made her first public appearance since the allegations at the Grammy Awards last month.

The Pop superstar was sued by some of her backup dancers slamming her for creating a hostile work environment and sexual harassment.
