Maiya The Don is currently trending on Twitter following her energetic performance at the Rolling Loud CA over the weekend. Video of Maiya performing her hit song ‘Dusties’ has since been garnering mixed reactions from fans.

Maiya rose to stardom back in October 2022 following her viral “Telfy” hit. Last year, the Brooklyn rapper returned with another single, “Dusties.”

The track went on to become another hit. “Dusties” samples Lil Kim featuring 50 Cent’s song “Magic Stick” and it pays homage to her New York City roots. Maiya also interpolates Ice Spice’s breakout song “Munch (Feelin’ U)” on “Dusties”.

Over the weekend, the spitter graced the stage at Rolling Loud CA to deliver an energetic performance of “Dusties,” however, due to her alleged beef with Nicki Minaj, she’s been getting negative comments including body shaming over the performance.

Notwithstanding, some fans have come to her defense against cyber bullying. “The barbs get again weight shaming a female artist when Nicki a** is not right in 2024,” someone commented. “She got more stage presence and choreo than yalls fave,” another person wrote.

“Underrated female rapper!! maiya always spitting shit , love her, someone else added. “And they tried to talk about Nicki’s weight chi-” a Nicki fan page wrote. A fan showed support saying, “Look at Maiya the Don mopping the stage with the tears of her haters. What a time. @maiyathedon stay focused, boo! They could never!”

Maiya also joined the trend to jokingly shade herself. “I’m Maiya The Don of course I have an extra 30 inch middle part buss down wig to lend,” the rapper tweeted.
