TikTok star Winnie Parker, who is not new to controversy, is now back on the chopping block after she decided to create a GoFundMe account for her followers to donate money so she can afford to hire a matchmaker.

Winnie went viral last year after claiming that, as a black influencer, it’s “better” to have a majority White audience versus a Black one because according to her, Black people don’t support like White people do.

She was faced with heavy backlash at the time, the criticism was so much that she ended up losing a brand deal with Macy’s. And again, Winnie is getting dragged across social media for trying to get money out of her followers for a matchmaker of all things.

In a video Winnie shared on TikTok, she explains how she’s a single mother who hasn’t had luck finding a partner while living in Atlanta. This birth the idea of her creating a GoFundMe that her followers can donate to, so she can afford to hire a matchmaker and create her own version of the Bachelorette.

Folks on TikTok wasted no time in eating her up, many are saying she’s desperate for the trend. However, she felt it was a good idea and according to her, paying for her matchmaker can be compared to paying for a Netflix subscription because it’s all entertainment.

“I think people just found it extremely tone deaf to ask for that amount of money. Especially in this economy,” a TikTok user said. “I wasn’t just asking for money I was going to create content around this. It’s no different than paying for a Netflix subscription,” Winnie replied.

Following heavy backlash, Winnie folded and deleted the video, however, the GoFundMe is definitely still there.
